Dear readers,
I’m super busy right now, having a new job and all, so I can’t find the time to write the useful and informative articles I think about writing - thus I’m keeping this on hold for a while longer. But, I’ve just paid for another year’s worth of hosting, so expect something wonderful in the coming weeks.
In the meantime, Caroline and I have started a Tumblelog, which we’d love you to take a look at.
(back soon)
I was deeply saddened when my iPod Mini appeared to have given up the ghost. The nostalgia, the design, the 4GB hard drive.

The symptoms are well documented: ’sad iPod’ face (pictured), whirring sound on startup, not mounting via USB. I had heard that dropping the iPod from height onto a desk tended to solve the issue, but my attempts were in vain.
A desire to educate the folks at mN through my iTunes sharing left me looking for a compact, USB powered, hard disk - and given the iPod’s seamless integration with iTunes I made another attempt.
The solution? Yes, hitting the iPod does work, but it must be on the right-hand side. A passionate thump against the spine of my Moleskine had fixed the problem.

The CSS Text Wrapper allows you to easily make HTML text wrap in shapes other than just a rectangle. You can make text wrap around curves, zig-zags, or whatever you want. All you have to do is draw the left and right edges below and then copy the generated code to your website.
Works in IE 6+, Firefox, Safari, Opera, and Netscape.
Time-lapse photography is a method of producing video using still photographs as frames (similar to Stop-motion animation). It is achieved by leaving a camera in a fixed position shot at any given interval.
Photojojo have a great article that gives you more than enough information to get started.
I’ve just installed Things, a GTD app from those folks at Cultured Code.
As someone who sucks at both Getting Things Done and using well designed applications, Things seems to appeal to me, if only for it’s lack of functionality.
Things is currently in Alpha, but you can request a preview at their site. Failing that, the screencast is definitely worth a look.
